Fröbytardag

A day for swapping seeds. Bring seeds you've saved, take seeds you want to grow. You don't need to bring any: you can swap or buy on the day.

Talks, music, café and things for children, around a long table of seed packets. It has been running for about sixteen years.

How it works

Seeds go hand to hand, for free. Home-saved, small amounts, labelled with what they are.

In Sweden, private growers swapping seed like this need no registration and no plant passport. Selling or sending by post is a different matter.

Biochar course

One Fröbytardag came with a biokolskurs: how wood turns to charcoal, and why it belongs in soil.

Pyrolysis and gasification, soil life, compost tea, and the kilns: oil drums, top-lit updraft stoves, cone kilns and pits dug in the ground.
